Abstract

Remit of Review
The National Review of Primary Care Out of Hours Services (‘the
Review’) was asked to evaluate the effectiveness of the delivery of
primary care out of hours services in Scotland. This evaluation involved
reviewing the current situation and recommending action to ensure that
primary care out of hours services:
• Are person-centred, sustainable, high quality, safe and effective
• Provide access to relevant urgent care where needed
• Deliver the right skill mix of professional support for patients during
the OOH period
Please note: The remit specifically excluded consideration of dental and
optometrist services.
