Abstract

This article considers the international law relevant to the dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia over the latter
upstream country’s construction of the Renaissance dam on the Blue Nile. The author considers the relevance
of different treaties, the significance of customary law, and the legal connotations of recent developments.
