Abstract

A detailed analysis of some aspects of the rolling torus load limiter is made assuming an elastic-perfectly plastic model material. Cyclic loading and unloading are considered and particular attention is paid to the change of position in the torus section of the neutral axis and the elastic-plastic boundaries as the section is rotated.
