N2 - The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions funded the programme from1996 to 2000. We welcome the continuing support of the new Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). We thank the many volunteers and bat groups who have dedicated their time to help with the collection of field data under often arduous night-time conditions. We also extend thanks to the office volunteers and BCT staff (in particular Julie Agate, Julia Baker, Nicky Belbeck, James Bell, Clare Bowen, Conrad Ellam, James Farrell, Andy Jones, Mari Monii and Meesha Patel) who worked hard to keep the NBMP office running smoothly.
